businesses

Why I started the site.

There are hundreds of companies in the nanny care industry. Some are great. Some are shockingly bad. And there are a lot in between. Unfortunately it’s really hard for parents and nannies to know which ones are which. I created this site to help them cut through the hype and find quality service providers that meet their particular needs.

In depth listings.

When parents and nannies are choosing a company to work with, name and contact information aren’t nearly enough. I include the information that is most helpful in deciding which search partner or related service to use. I outline why the information is important on the anatomy of a listing page. Visitors will find a link to that page to the right of every listing.

User reviews.

All the user reviews come from real people. I never use auto generated content. And since I’m not a big believer in “one size fits all”, I’ve created review categories specific to each type of business. Because this is different than other review sites, I encourage visitors to read the how to review and how to read a review pages before jumping in. Visitors will find links to those pages to the right of every listing.

What the reviews are based on.

The ideal or standard for each category is listed in the tooltip or box visitors see when their cursor moves over the category title on the review page. (They’re also listed here.)

Standards in the nanny industry.

Nanny care is an unregulated industry, there aren’t any across-the-board standards for services or quality of care. For the consumer, this means Company A can define a term as one thing, Company B can define it as something else and Company C can define it as yet something else and legally, they’re all telling the truth. So when an agency claims they place “only experienced, trained nannies” or an online job site claims their nannies are “background checked”, what does that really mean? Not much in real world terms. Not really helpful, huh? That’s where NannyBizReviews.com comes in.

For each type of nanny-related business, I created review categories specific to them. Then I defined the standard for each one, what I believe represents quality in that category. Yes, they’re just my opinions but they’re opinions based on over 20 years of experience in the field and firsthand knowledge of how each standard directly impacts families and caregivers.

Full disclosure.

This is my passion. And it’s also my business. I make money by offering you the option of purchasing an enhanced listing. That option doesn’t make your company rank higher or erase bad reviews. It only adds information to your profile and allows you to reply to reviewers. Oh yeah, it also keeps the lights on.
