How are the overall rankings and rating determined?
A. Fill out a submission form. It’s that easy!
A. I don’t remove listings unless the company goes out of business. If there is incorrect information listed, I’d be happy to update your listing.
A. Please email me with the correct information.
Q. Does it cost to be listed?
A. No, every company whose services are focused on nanny care receives a free listing. However I do offer companies the option of purchasing an enhanced listing.
A. An enhanced listing gives you the option of responding to your reviewers plus adds your logo, full contact information, links to your website and social media pages, descriptive langauge, a narrative, and share buttons at the bottom of your profile. It’s a great way to improves your visibility and drive traffic to your site. Visit our advertising page for all the details.
A. Order now and you can take advantage of intro pricing. I don’t know the exact date, but the rates will be going up once I launch the site to the public.
A. Absolutely, as long as it doesn’t contain any misleading or false information. I retain the right to edit the information submitted. If for whatever reason you don’t approve of the edit, I’ll happily give you a full refund.
A. No. Overall ratings and rankings are based solely on reviews.
A. No. I only review a business if I have enough information to provide a comprehensive evaluation of them.
A. I’m looking at the business’s commitment to quality nanny care, expertise in the field, ability to successfully guide the client through the placement (or tax or screening) maze and overall customer service. I base my review on my business dealings with the company, their overall reputation in the industry and the experiences of my nanny and family clients that have used them. I use the same rating categories as visitor reviewers. I’m just coming from a much broader perspective. And because I know what the ideal is, I’m a much tougher critic.
A. My goal is to share my honest opinion about nanny-related businesses with visitors. It isn’t to hurt an individual company. My reviews, both positive and negative, stay up unless the business changes the way it does business. If you feel that’s the case, please email me.
A. All reviews are the personal opinion of the reviewer. Although I retain the right to pull any review, in general I only remove reviews in extreme cases. If the information is objectively and factually incorrect, please email me.
A. Only businesses with enhanced listings have the option of replying to reviews. If you have an enhanced listing, simply post a response. Make sure to include your name. If you don’t have an enhanced listing, please consider purchasing one. Why this policy? As much as I love what I do, this is my business. I only have a finite amount of time and when deciding where to invest that time, it’s important to balance providing a valuable free service to visitors and maintaining a healthy bottom line.
A. I did not import any ratings or reviews for this site. In fact, before I started developing this site I didn’t even know you could automatically generate fake reviews with a simple plugin. If I could rate that idea I’d give it a big, fat zero stars!
A. The site uses Bayesian weighting to calculate overall ratings. It’s designed to prevent people from “gaming the system.” A company with 1 review, 5 stars will be rated lower than a company with 100 reviews and 4.9 stars. Bayesian weighting calculates “rating trust”. The rankings are based on overall rating. Both user and editor reviews are included and equally weighted in the overall ratings.
